Blatz Condominiums
PR highlights Blatz amenities; builds buzz among downtown audiences
After being converted from apartments to condominiums, the Blatz was ready for new occupants in the spring of 2006. A campaign to increase visibility, draw in potential buyers and position the Blatz as downtown Milwaukee’s most amenity-filled, reasonably-priced condo development spanned the summer, resulting in the Blatz selling nearly 2/3 of its units within six months.
Sponsorships and promotions at key Milwaukee events including Riversplash!, Bastille Days and Jazz in the Park created buzz among the young, hip downtown crowd. A widely publicized “Win a Vespa” contest drew more than 1,000 visitors to the Blatz web site.
Media hits included a feature on the front page of the Sunday Real Estate section of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as well as a feature on the front page of OnMilwaukee.com. While coverage of individual condo developments is rare, the angle highlighting the many amenities being offered resulted in coverage focused specifically on the Blatz.
A Grand Opening event complete with food and beverages, musicians, model tours and prize giveaways drew in more than 1,000 visitors and resulted in the sales of 12 units.
